UPDATED BRIEF 2/11/20
What we want designed is a mural for our bar. The mural will be placed on the bar side of the restaurant and serve as a main focal point.
Our bar is a place where people a free to have fun, gather, socialize and have a good time; the mural is the first thing our clients will see when they walk in so we'd like the art to reflect that. We are looking for artwork that conveys COZINESS, LIVELINESS, and SOCIAL.
Artists and designers who participate are open to interpretations that include people laughing, smiling, dancing, or drinking along with Japanese festival aesthetics but are not limited to those ideas for artwork -- a variety of concepts is ideal!
The artwork submitted should not be hyper realistic in nature or strictly a traditional Japanese Ukiyo-e style. A blend of modern and traditional styles is acceptable.
We'd like the illustration / mural to fit into a 6 foot by 12 foot frame. The wall in where the mural will be painted is black colored brick and the space features open wood rafters, warm string lighting, and a dark amber wood panel accent wall.
We will include images of our current logo, pictures of the space as it currently looks, and examples of mural work we like for art style inspiration.
Please feel free to send a message regarding any questions about art direction or concepts, I will respond as soon as possible.
