I'm launching a website to give encouragement and positive ideas to other Multiple Sclerosis patients and their caregivers and families. It will have product reviews, podcasts with doctors, patients, and fundraisers, a blog that will highlight my life with MS and how I'm coping, a forum for the community to help each other and a fundraising arm to raise money for MS research. The name FUMS comes from how I speak to this disease. In particular, when I'm hurting or mad - I say "FUMS," when I do something that my doctors and others wouldn't expect me to be able to do, I YELL "FUMS." It's empowering and it's an attitude that I want to share with others, too many of whom have either given up or given in. I want them to say FUMS with me. And btw, when asked by someone who may be a bit sensitive or by a child, I tell them FUMS stands for Fundamental Understanding of Multiple Sclerosis. But anyone who knows me - knows better!!
**UPDATE: I've received a lot of feedback on the various designs and I'm concerned about people being offended. I'm loving the very overt stuff - but apparently quite a few viewers have felt slapped by it! They are offended and I certainly don't want to do that. Can you create something that is less overt, but keeps the "hidden" meaning somehow? I need the FU in purple and the MS in orange. I'd like to see the logo both with and without FUMSnow.com and Fundamental Understanding of Multiple Sclerosis with it. Thanks for all of your creativity!
