In Monumental Silver Linings, Mackenzie was drugged and raped in Lima, Peru. She tells the story of her trauma and recovery through a series of journal entries. She starts off as a scared girl, who vows not to tell a soul about what happened to her; however, soon she blossoms into a strong woman and finds her voice. Along her journey, she encounters many road blocks and is forced to live a dual life. She strives to find the balance between fighting a criminal case and simultaneously surviving high school.
