Modern Webspace, Inc. is looking for a website design concept with a 'modern' theme, in the retro sense of the word. Like what you would see in 'The Jetsons' cartoons or at a 1960's World's Fair. But it needs a contempory look, too. Think 'Web 2.0 meets retro-modern'.
$25 bonus paid if you provide web-ready assets in PNG format. Other bonuses may be awarded. for extra effort.
A second place design will be awarded $75.

I'm just starting an internet consulting business and I need a website. I'm strong on the coding side (both HTML and back-end systems), but weak on the design side. I've started and thrown away 5 or 6 designs of my own. So I need your help.
My company name is Modern Webspace, Inc. I have a logo and a good idea of what I want my site to look like. I want the theme to be 'modern' in the retro sense. So we're looking for a futuristic website that you would have seen in the 50's and 60's. Like what you would see in 'The Jetsons' cartoons or at a 1960's World's Fair. Googie architecture (i.e. the Space Needle in Seattle) is one of my favorite styles.
(added 1/25)I also want it to have a web 2.0 look. Think 'web 2.0 meets retro-modern'. The retro element should be a strong part of the design, though. The current print & TV ad campaign by Comcast has the style that I'm looking for. (Unfortunately, their website doesn't have this look. In fact, their website is downright ugly.)
A little cheesy is OK, but it must still come across as professional.
You must provide a fully layered PSD or XCF file. I'll code the xhtml/css and jazz it up with a little ajax. $25 bonus paid if you provide web-ready assets in PNG format (transparent where appropriate). Other bonuses may be paid at my discretion.
Here's my logo:
(added 1/23)It is based on a font called Klinkomite.
The color values are:
#ff6600 - Orange
#99ccff - Baby blue
#ff99cc - Pink
#f0d02f - Gold
#adc54e - Olive
#000000 - Black
(added 1/23) Don't feel like you have to use all of those colors. In fact, it's probably better if you don't. They are provided as a reference so that you can use them it you want to.
(added on 1/23) Please ignore my current website. I'm not a webhost. That's the default website put up by my webhost when I signed up for an account.
(added 1/23)Here's a rough outline of the the layout I'm looking for:
A second place design will also be chosen and will be awarded $75.
In order to be paid, you must be willing to give exclusive world-wide rights (including resale rights) to all elements of the design to Modern Webspace. If your design contains any elements of from another designer, you must be able to show that I can use that element without infringing on someone else's rights. You will be given design credit in a small text link at the bottom of the page.
